Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias has joked he is planning to start a crowdfunding scheme to bring Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin back to the club.
The full-back spent last season on loan with the club, with Arsenal letting him leave on a as he was not a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
He ended up being a hit with the Spanish side, establishing himself as a key player under Manuel Pellegrini and winning the Copa del Rey.
They’re keen to bring him back this summer on a permanent basis but are yet to do so as the finances are proving to be prohibitive.
Their funds are limited this summer, and at the moment, Arsenal’s demands are too much for them to make their move.
The hope is that they can bring down the Gunners’ demands over the course of the window, but Iglesias may have a different plan.
“Yes, I miss Hector Bellerin,” he told Estadio Deportivo.
“I’m thinking of doing the crowdfunding we said we would do to get him back. I come out of training, and people ask me if Hector is coming, and they tell me that they are starting a piggy bank here to raise money.
“Hector Bellerin really wants to come back. He has always said that he wants to play here, what happens is that he has been there for a long time at Arsenal. It is a complicated situation because he has a contract. I have always said it. I hope he is here as soon as possible because he gives us a lot inside and outside the locker room.”
