The Italian press is back to claiming that Inter Milan will not use their buying option to keep Cedric Soares at the club for next season.
As website Calcio Mercato reports the club’s transfer plans for the summer, they say the intention is to have ‘continuity’ and give players more chances to evolve.
However, there’s an exception, and that’s Cedric. It’s claimed that the Southampton loanee is ‘destined’ to return to St. Mary’s, leaving the right-back position open for new arrivals.
The mention about Cedric is just a detail in the story, so Calcio Mercato doesn’t say much more about that.
Since joining Inter Milan in January, Cedric Soares has made only seven appearances for the club. The Nerazzurri had a buying option of €11m for the player, and that’s an amount Southampton were certainly expecting once they authorised the Portuguese international to make the move.
