Real Madrid signed Brahim Diaz from Manchester City for €15m plus variables in the winter market.

The midfielder made his debut against Leganes in January after training with the Champions League winners for only a day.

After his debut, Spanish newspaper AS explains it was expected Santiago Solari would give him more opportunities in the first team, especially after sidelining Isco.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened for the Malaga-born player, who has now been ‘ostracised’ at the Spanish capital club since his move from Manchester City.

Since joining Real Madrid, Diaz has made only three appearances in all competitions and has collectively played for only 24 minutes in the process. In addition to this, he has failed to make it to the squad for seven matches, including the Copa del Rey clashes against Girona and Barcelona.

AS also claims Diaz requested the 13-time European champions to complete his transfer last month because didn’t want to stay at City until the end of the season, knowing that he had already decided to leave Pep Guardiola’s side.

Los Blancos, on the other hand, didn’t want risk of losing Diaz by waiting until the summer to sign him because the English club were pushing the player to sign a contract extension.

Despite the current situation, the report claims the former Manchester City man is calm and is not looking to go out on loan in the summer as he remains confident of getting more minutes at Real Madrid.
