Despite clarifications from Antonio Conte that Nemanja Matic will be an ‘important player’ for him, the rumours about a possible move to Juventus refuse to go away.
That said, the odds of it have seemingly shortened since the Italian manager’s words, and Corriere dello Sport have it as a 25% chance of happening as the Serie A club keep looking for a new midfielder.
Preferring one capable of defending, the Serbian fits the bill perfectly, and the Italian newspaper claim Matic is Max Allegri’s ‘favourite’ out of all the potential options thanks to his defensive ability and imposing physique.
Corriere know any transfer would be difficult, hence the 25%, but there is still hope, apparently coming from the player’s camp.
The Italian newspaper say Matic wants to meet with the club to discuss his role since the signing of N’Golo Kanté, and his representatives will do just that ‘shortly’.
If Matic isn’t happy, the Serbia international might start pushing for a transfer away fro Stamford Bridge.
All that Juventus need to do now is wait and see what the outcome of this meeting ends up being.
