Jean-Michaël Seri probably shouldn’t still be at Nice.
Rated by L’Equipe as the best midfielder in Ligue 1 last season, Seri was expected to leave the club this summer, but so far he’s not come close to going anywhere.
Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe reports that Mauricio Pochettino still has Seri on his Tottenham hit-list, considering making a move for the player.
With Tottenham choosing to leave their transfer business until August, perhaps to add drama for everyone, there’s no rush on Seri or anyone else.
Arsenal have also been repeatedly linked with Seri, and L’Equipe reiterate that Arsene Wenger is keen. But, just like Tottenham, Arsenal aren’t doing anything about their interest yet, looking to trim their own options in midfield before adding further choices.
Whilst Tottenham and Arsenal watch the situation and twiddle their thumbs, Swansea City are the only Premier League club to have actually made a move.
L’Equipe reiterate that the Welsh side offered €17m, which was presumably laughed off by Nice before being rejected.
Seri’s asking price is €40m.
