The Nelson Semedo saga has got to the stage A Bola feel it’s appropriate to have a full page story saying the player is currently ‘calm’.

The right-back is not concerned about negotiations, and will have no problem returning to Benfica if he has to. The Eagles are said to be currently negotiating the player’s sale with Barcelona and Manchester United, although Bayern Munich haven’t given up yet.

Last week and over the weekend the Portuguese press made Manchester United sound like the only club seriously left in the race, but the other two have been dragged back in.

Talks are complicated because the Portuguese side demand €50m, something the clubs don’t want to pay.

Record claims the ‘English market’ is still the closest to the player, but they don’t really give any updates on Manchester United’s recent approaches.

Semedo himself is said to be focused in the Confederations Cup and only wants to be told about offers when Benfica accept one. He won’t push for the club to sell him, as his recent contract renewal is already good enough to keep him happy in Lisbon.
