Over the past couple of days, there have been rumours of Manchester City’s interest in Inter Milan star Milan Škriniar.
Calciomercato have decided to take a look at these reports and have ‘confirmed’ the rumours of the Premier League winners chasing the 24-year-old.
It’s claimed the Slovakia international ‘remains an Achilles heel’ for the Etihad club as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his centre-back position for next season.
The former Bayern Munich manager has identified the Nerazzurri defender as the player will ‘revolutionise’ the heart of the back four.
City’s interest in the player is not new as they have been chasing Škriniar since 2018 and the report adds their interest could materialise into an approach at the end of the season.
Škriniar is one of the key pillars of Inter’s project and Antonio Conte’s side will only consider his sale if they receive an ‘indispensable offer’.
Inter value their player at no less than €70-80m and if they receive such an offer, the San Siro club could be convinced to look for Škriniar’s alternatives.
Calciomercato end their report by stating City ‘does not worry Inter: the position on Skriniar is already clear in view of next summer’.
The situation could change if City decide to meet Inter’s demands for Škriniar.
