Despite AFC Bournemouth having an interest in Weston McKennie, it appears it currently isn’t reciprocal.
That is, at least, what the Italian media are saying on Tuesday when looking at the USA international’s future at Juventus.
They point out that, as things stand, Bournemouth are the ones pressing the most to try and sign the midfielder from Juventus, but the 24-year-old is putting up a wall.
Corriere Torino, for example, explain that McKennie ‘seems to be leaning towards a no’ to the idea of moving to the Vitality Stadium, despited the Cherries being ‘ready to put on the plate almost €40m including bonuses’.
The midfielder is ‘waiting for the moves’ of bigger clubs, capable of playing in Europe in the near future, which is something Gary O’Neil’s side currently cannot do, as they sit 15th in the league after 17 games.
This is a bit of a blow to Bournemouth, but it could be a situation that starts evolving if none of the likes of Dortmund or Tottenham come forward in the coming weeks.
Perhaps then, a move to the Premier League, even if it is to the Vitality Stadium, could become more attractive.
