Villarreal’s Pervis Estupiñán is identified as one of the candidates by Brighton, according to today’s El Periódico Mediterráneo.
It’s even claimed that Graham Potter’s side have made an offer to the 24-year-old, but he ‘rejects’ their proposal. That’s because the Ecuador international aspires to join a club that has ‘more sporting pedigree’ than the Seagulls.
There’s no mention of the details of the offer made by Brighton and it wouldn’t matter much because the player has turned it down.
The 24-year-old has also been on Tottenham Hotspur’s agenda, but a move there will only be possible if Sergio Reguilón finds a new club in this window.
Estupiñán was on Watford’s books for four years between 2016 and 2020, but didn’t end up making a single appearance for them.
The South American joined the La Liga side on a permanent deal in 2020 and has made 29 league starts for Unai Emery’s side since then.
