The news linking Mario Mandzukic to Manchester United continues to come from Italy, where they expect the player to leave Juventus very soon.

Earlier today, we covered a story from Corriere Dello Sport which said the Croatian international ‘regrets’ having rejected the Red Devils in the summer window, although he should have a new chance to join them in January.

And it turns out this rejection is commented on by another newspaper, this time Tuttosport.

They say Mandzukic wants to choose his next destination very calmly, and that’s why he couldn’t say yes to Manchester United, who only approached him in the last days of the summer market.

The Premier League club’s attempt was too rushed for the player’s liking.

An attempt from the Old Trafford side is still a possibility, but Tuttosport makes it clear they should have some competition, including from the Premier League and the MLS.

On Saturday night, Qatari club Al Rayyan announced they were suspending the negotiations for Mandzukic, leaving one more sign that he should wait until January before he moves out of Juventus.
