Earlier today we covered a report from local Valencia radio which stated Giorgi Mamardashvili would today go through his medical checks with Liverpool.
It was explained those checks were set to take place in the Spanish city, and the report is now being backed up by Marca.
The Spanish newspaper published a story stating the goalkeeper will be going through his medical checks within minutes, having ‘received the green light’ to join Arne Slot’s side.
As we covered on Sunday, there were just final details to go through to bring the edges of the deal together, and it would appear that has all now been done.
Peter Lim won’t be getting the full €40m he wanted but Valencia will receive close to it, and crucially the player remains on loan with them for the current season.
Of course, Mamardashvili still has to pass that medical check but it’s not expected that Liverpool will find any physical issues with the Euro 2024 star.
Marca say it’s even possible the move could be made official later on Monday.
