West Ham United have joined Napoli in the chase to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas this summer.
That’s according to La Repubblica, who state the 35-year-old is not included in manager Christophe Galtier’s plans at Parc des Princes this season.
The Serie A side were said to be the keeper’s next destination and this saw them put a deal for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga on hold. That was before West Ham entered the scene.
La Repubblica explain that in the ‘last few hours’, Navas has received notice of a ‘strong interest’ from the Hammers. They further add David Moyes’ side are ‘willing to pay’ the Costa Rica international a ‘higher salary’ to join them in this window.
The Naples club, down their end, must hurry and close the deal quickly for the former Real Madrid man, in order to overcome the competition from the Premier League.
While West Ham are willing to offer a higher salary to Navas, Luciano Spalletii’s side could convince the South American by offering him a chance to play in the Champions League with them this season.
It remains to be seen whether the English club can overcome Napoli to sign Navas.
