Rafael Santos Borré’s contract with River Plate will expire in the coming months and everything indicated he will join Brazilian side Grêmio.
There’s been a new development on this case as Brighton & Hove Albion have emerged as a new suitor for the forward in the last few hours.
This is according to Argentina’s TNT Sports, who say the 25-year-old has received an offer from the Seagulls.
It’s claimed the Colombia international’s family are not convinced over a switch to Brazil due to the country’s ‘social and economic crisis’. Added to this, the attacker received an ‘important’ proposal from Graham Potter’s side.
TNT Sports makes it clear there isn’t a formal proposal yet and Borré will wait to receive more offers to ‘make the best decision’. Apart from the sides in England and Brazil, clubs in Spain, Italy, Mexico and the United States are also looking at him.
In the event he ends up joining Brighton, it will be Borré’s third club in Europe after spells at Villarreal and Atlético Madrid.
