Gerard Deulofeu is one of the players expected to leave Watford before the window closes on October 5th.

Cristiano Giaretta, the Hornets new sporting director, recently admitted there are several clubs in Italy, England and Spain interested in the winger. His representative also opened the door for his client to leave Vicarage Road.

Fiorentina have ‘started contacts’ for signing the 26-year-old, according to Calciomercato.it.

Juventus remain interested in Federico Chiesa, but they need to offload Diego Costa first before making an attempt to sign the La Viola star.

It’s claimed the Florence club don’t want to be unprepared in the event Chiesa leaves the club, which is why they have identified the former Everton man as a potential candidate to replace the Italian.

As per the report, Deulofeu is ‘ready to leave’ the Championship side and has repeatedly expressed his desire to return to Serie A, where he spent a short spell on loan at AC Milan in 2017.

Calciomercato.it states the English side prefers selling the Spaniard, but the possibility of allowing him to go out on a loan deal with ‘right/obligation to redeem’ has not been excluded.

Although Fiorentina are discussing the possibility of signing the Watford player, the website adds ‘everything will depend’ on Chiesa’s situation. In other words, Deulofeu would only arrive at the Italian club if Chiesa ends up leaving Fiorentina.
