Yesterday, Manchester United held negotiations with Lecce in their move for Patrick Dorgu.

The Italian club’s president Sticchi Damiani confirmed that talks took place, revealing that the meeting was rather ‘cordial’ and that Lecce are flattered by the Red Devils’ interest in their talent.

Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by PianetaLecce, now report that Dorgu’s entourage has now reached a ‘basic agreement’ to move to Old Trafford, indicating that personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

Manchester United made an offer worth €30m plus potential bonuses of €5m during the meeting yesterday, but that is not enough for Lecce.

The Italian side want a fee that reaches the €40m mark and on top of that, they also want to keep the talent on loan at the club until the end of the season, if Manchester United sign Dorgu in January.

Presumably Lecce haven’t seen the Premier League table recently and aren’t therefore aware Manchester United are desperately scrambling around for someone who can fit into the system Ruben Amorim wants now.
