Nuno Tavares’ time in the Premier League was rather mediocre, struggling to make a big impact at Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.
Now at Lazio, the left-back spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he played only eight times in the Premier League and never became an undisputed starter.
In Serie A, the 24-year-old has gone through an impressive resurgence. CittaCeleste look at the Portuguese, who has four assists in four games for Lazio and also contributed to a goal against Torino at the weekend.
They state that Tavares’ time at Forest was a ‘year to forget’ and they praise the Rome club for trusting the full-back. They believe that the option to buy him permanently from Arsenal for €5m is a ‘great deal’.
Club manager Marco Baroni has given him the trust that he needed, with Tavares said to be causing havoc in attack to ‘devastating’ effect.
The game against Torino was the first time in the season that Baroni substituted the ex-Gunners man, which shows how much the Lazio boss trusts the new signing.
