Player has ‘positively passed medical tests’ to sign for Manchester United – Late deal on the way

On Thursday evening, claims came from Italy that Manchester United were set to seal the signing of Sofyan Amrabat after weeks of speculation.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to get the midfielder into his squad, but the Old Trafford club were having difficulty agreeing a deal with Fiorentina.

Other clubs tried to muscle in, with La Viola even agreeing a deal with Fulham for a full transfer, but Amrabat himself was determined to hold out for Manchester United.

Then on Friday it was reported a deal had been agreed, which would see the player move on loan for a year at a cost of €10m. Manchester United would then have the option to make the move permanent for a further €20m plus a potential €5m in bonus payments.

Then it was just a case of getting a deal over line, with it also reported Amrabat was set to have a medical in Pisa.

Calciomercato now report that he’s ‘positively passed medical tests’ this evening, which is a slight surprise as many would have assumed that would have been done earlier today.

Regardless, it’s another positive slant on the move.
