Back at the start of the week, we covered reports from the Chilean media claiming Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Arturo Vidal from Inter Milan.
It was said that manager Antonio Conte wants to reunite with the midfielder, and now joined forces with Spurs to try to attract him to London.
There’s been, of course, some noise about it in Italy. And in a story from Inter Live, we get to see that the Nerazzurri may not be very concerned about keeping Vidal in their squad.
The outlet features a piece stating that Tottenham are interested in signing the midfielder in the summer, and says the 34-year-old is ‘particularly tempted’ by the chance of joining Conte in the Premier League.
The most interesting information from Inter Live’s story is brought in their final paragraph. They first claim that Vidal’s departure from the Serie A giants in summer is a ‘certainty’, despite the option to renew his contract for one more year.
Then they make it sound like Inter Milan wouldn’t really miss the midfielder, as his recent performances ‘haven’t been particularly brilliant’.
So that indeed builds up a scenario where the player could just walk to the Premier League, where Conte could welcome him with open arms at Spurs.
