Chelsea’s pursuit for Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick seems to be becoming serious now.
Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola had already reported that on the 22th of July, one day after the teenager turned 16, the Blues held a meeting with his agent and his parents to speak about their interest in signing him.
The reporter now comes up with an interesting update regarding Chelsea’s chances of succeeding in the race for the forward, who’s been watched by several European giants.
First of all, despite claiming in his first report that the Blues had ‘signalled’ with their intention of o pay €30m plus €10m in performance bonuses for the signing, this time he claims that the London side are ‘preparing’ this bid ‘for the next few days’.
Then the real update is that Endrick and his parents are ‘very interested’ for what they’ve heard. Not because of the financial part, but actually for the project shown by Chelsea.
According to Nicola, the Blues presented a career plan that made ‘everyone very happy and excited’ with the possibility of the transfer. It’s said the Stamford Bridge side are the ‘most interested’ in the signing him at this stage.
There’s obviously a long way to go, as Chelsea must still get a deal done with Palmeiras, who have the player protected with a €40m release clause in this first year of contract. Also even if the Blues sign him now, they can only bring him to Europe in the summer of 2014, when he turns 18.
Nicola says that Palmeiras haven’t been notified about the interest from the Premier League side.
