Portuguese newspaper A Bola highlights today the recent claims which said Leicester City striker Islam Slimani could soon return to Sporting.
The reports have been coming from the English and Turkish press, and the Lisbon outlet sounds excited about it, as they give the story a big article in today’s edition.
Now A Bola doesn’t have much to add about the negotiations, but are sure about one thing: Slimani would be really keen about returning to Sporting.
They say the player has been open to this move for a long time now, and already told Sporting he would happy to be a Lion again.
Slimani has only five goals in 25 appearances for Fenerbahce this season, and his return to Leicester City in the summer sounds very likely.
Things haven’t worked out well for him since joining the Foxes on a €30m deal in 2016.
As he’s considered to be an ‘expensive’ player by the Portuguese clubs, a move back to Lisbon would only happen if Leicester present good conditions for it.
