Turkish website Fotospor claim RB Leipzig player Ethan Ampadu, who’s currently on loan with the German club from Chelsea, is open to joining Trabzonspor.
Earlier this month we covered reports from the Turkish press which stated newly appointed Trabzonspor assistant manager Eddie Newton wants to sign the Welsh international, and Fotospor now report the Chelsea defender is keen on the move.
It’s stated Newton has held talks with the Premier League side with regards to signing Ampadu on a loan deal until the end of next season, and initial negotiations were reportedly very positive.
The 19 year old hasn’t been getting enough game time under Julian Nagelsmann, featuring for just 49 minutes in the league.
With Euro 2020 around the corner, the youngster will be looking to get regular first-team football and Trabzonspor could offer him this as they are in the market for a central defender before next week’s deadline.
Ampadu’s contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of June 2023.
