It’s been a few days since reports from Brazil and Italy started claiming that Lyanco’s move from Torino to Southampton is very close to happening, and we see that being written once again today.

UOL now report the defender is ‘one step’ from joining the Saints as he has a ‘very well forwarded negotiation’ to sign for the Premier League side.

Journalist Bruno Andrade says Lyanco will sign a four-year contract with Southampton in the ‘coming hours’, with transfer presumably being made official shortly after that.

According to the report, the Saints have beaten competition from Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Atalanta, while the player was recently contacted by Brazilian sides Grêmio and Flamengo as well. The deal with the English side was reportedly agreed for €7.5m.

With recent reports saying the defender was having his medical and his agents were sorting the final details of the move in Italy, it would be no surprise to see the clubs confirming the transfer in the not too distant future.
