Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca is ‘one step away’ from announcing his move to Leeds United.
That’s according to AS, who say the Spaniard will leave Bayern this summer after reaching an agreement with Leeds.
They report that the final details of that move are ‘still to be finalised’, but negotiations have ‘accelerated’ in the last few hours, and a deal is now close.
The 25-year-old will sign a four-year deal with Leeds, with Bayern set to pocket €15m from the transfer.
Those in charge at Elland Road have reportedly moved quickly to sign the ‘forgotten pearl of Spanish football’, as they wait to see what Kalvin Phillips’ future will look like.
He has interest from several clubs, including Manchester City, and so Leeds have moved quickly to secure Roca, who was a ‘long-standing desire’ anyway.
A deal for him is now close to being completed, with the first set of medical tests scheduled for Friday this week.
Should the deal go through, it will be celebrated at Roca’s former club Espanyol, who are set to earn 20% of any fee according to La Grada, a welcome boost for the club as their owner has announced he will not be putting any more money into transfers this summer.
