Ruhr Nachrichten, the local newspaper for the Bundesliga club, quote him as saying: “I want the fans to understand me. A transfer like the one BVB made (Serhou Guirassy) was not the greatest sign of trust for me.”
On top of BVB pushing him away, he felt a huge eagerness from West Ham, including manager Julen Lopetegui, to get him to London “I felt an incredible amount of conviction and appreciation. The club, the coach and the manager really wanted to sign me, they showed me a great plan. It was so extreme that I realised: I want to do this.”
