David Alaba’s situation at Bayern Munich has been turned into a complete drama, with Real Madrid one of the clubs dragged into the ongoing story.
With a contract expiring at the end of this season, the defender has been in renewal talks for months. Those haven’t produced any optimism, and Bayern have withdrawn their latest, and supposedly final, renewal offer.
The slant from Germany has been that Alaba and his agent Pini Zahavi are being completely unrealistic with their demands, and the player has been portrayed as a money-grabber.
It’s all getting messy, and now Marca report Alaba ‘has been offered’ to Real Madrid. This isn’t the first time such an approach has been made, with the Austrian’s father previously trying the Los Blancos route.
Now it’s Zahavi doing the offering, but Marca editor Jose Felix Diaz, doesn’t think the agent will find any joy at the Spanish side. Just like Bayern, Real Madrid wouldn’t be looking at paying the level of salary Alaba is said to be looking for, and there’s also worry over payments wanted by Zahavi and the player’s father.
On top of all of that, Marca suggest this may all be an attempt to further pressure the German champions.
