Ezgjan Alioski is no longer a Leeds United player.

The 29-year-old’s contract at Elland Road expired on Wednesday and he’s now without an employer. Linked for months with a move to the Turkish Super Lig, it remains clubs from there which are linked most to the player.

At the beginning of the year, it was Galatasaray who were linked the most, with claims Alioski was set to sign a pre-contract agreement months before his Leeds United deal was due to expire.

That caused some controversy, and Marcelo Bielsa’s side continued to try and find a renewal agreement with the North Macedonia international. Clearly growing frustrated with those efforts, last week Leeds moved to sign Junior Firpo from Barcelona, and a transfer for him is in the process of happening.

Alioski is on the front page of Thursday’s edition of Fotomac, and inside they explain that Trabzonspor look closest to agreeing a deal. Having been on the agenda of other clubs, it’s claimed the player hasn’t been able to attract the offers he expected, and now looks ‘warmly’ at Trabzonspor.

They are offering a golden handshake of €500k, according to the claims, and a salary of €1.2m a season.
