Late on Thursday, RAC1 reported that Arsenal have taken a leap forward in their efforts to sign Denis Suarez from Barcelona in January.
Friday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport now claims the 25-year-old is close to joining the Gunners on a loan move.
As a part of the deal, there will not be any obligation for the north London club to make the player’s signing permanent at the end of the season.
The midfielder is now ‘waiting’ for agreement with the Premier League outfit, meaning he now needs to sort out the the personal terms with Unai Emery’s side.
Barca wanted to raise funds from his sale in the winter market, but due to the deal agreed with Arsenal, Suarez will now return to Camp Nou in the summer.
However, the Spaniard is unlikely to be included in Ernesto Valverde’s plans for the next season and he will have to find a new solution then.
If this report is true, the English side have finally managed to get the deal they wanted in regards to Suarez’s transfer.
