On Wednesday we covered claims from Germany that Jeremy Toljan was on the verge of a move to Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has been looking to add a fullback to his squad for the second half of the Scottish Premiership season, and the European media have been covering several attempts from the Glasgow club for various options.
On Wednesday, the move was presented as so close it was thought a transfer could be completed that day, yet things are dragging on.
Toljan took part in Borussia Dortmund’s training on Thursday morning but that’s now over, report Ruhr Nachrichten.
They say a move to Celtic is ‘not out of the question’ and could still be completed before the deadline this evening.
Dortmund’s Michael Zorc is quoted as saying: “In some countries, the transfer window closes at midnight, we are still in talks.”
There’s no indication on what has been holding up the potential deal, and Rodgers will certainly hope Celtic can get this one over the line in time. The player is also likely to be keen, given his lack of football this season.
