Earlier on Thursday, we relayed a story from Gazzetta dello Sport about Everton’s attempts to sign Moise Kean from Juventus.
The Italy international fits the kind of forward the Toffees are looking for, which is why it came as no surprise that the Premier League club were ‘pushing a lot’ for his signature.
One of the main issues has been Juventus’ reluctance to lose all control on the player, with a buy-back clause being inserted in the deal as their preferred modus operandi.
Furthermore, it would be an expensive transfer, with the Serie A champions wanting ‘at least €40m’ for the youngster.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, there’s similar optimism about a potential move, and that’s mostly come from the player himself, who, ‘in the last few hours’, has apparently ‘opened the possibility of being transferred to the other half of Liverpool’.
There’s a similar line about Juventus’ fear of losing him forever, but Corriere reckon the Italians want to receive somewhere between €30-40m for Kean.
That’s a bit cheaper, and probably suits Everton and Marcel Brands more than ‘at least €40m’.
More to come in this, undoubtedly.
