Brentford FC look likely to miss out on the signing of Wolfsburg’s Omar Marmoush, with the player ‘likely to stay’ with the German side.

That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Florian Plettenburg, who provides an update on the winger’s future today.

Earlier this month, we covered a report from Germany that stated Brentford had made a ‘concrete offer’ for Marmoush as they plan for a second season in the Premier League.

The winger spent last season on loan with Stuttgart and impressed, with it explained he was keen on getting more minutes this season as a result.

If that wasn’t on offer at Wolfsburg, he would seek a transfer, and Brentford were the club that had made an offer for him.

However, it seems there has now been a change of stance from the player and his club, with Plettenburg reporting he is ‘likely to stay’.

According to his information, Wolfsburg now ‘want to keep him’, and so a move away has been ruled out for the time being.

That means he won’t be rocking up at Brentford this summer, and Thomas Frank and his side will have to turn their attention elsewhere.
