Inter Milan and Manchester United are very ‘close’ to an agreement for the transfer of Ashley Young, according to reports from Italy this Thursday afternoon.
As reported by Sky Italia, the Nerazzurri should be paying €1.5m to sign the 34-year-old on a permanent deal.
The Serie A side has been working on several moves for the January transfer window, and the outlet says Young should be the first one to join Antonio Conte this month.
The fullback is set to become the third Manchester United player to join Inter Milan this season, following the loan of Alexis Sanchez and the permanent move of Romelu Lukaku.
Signed from Aston Villa on a €18m deal in 2011, Ashley Young arrived at Manchester United as a winger for Alex Ferguson’s side.
But it turned out he ended up adapting as a fullback with the following managers, and is leaving Old Trafford after 261 appearances for the Red Devils, several of them wearing the captain’s armband.
