Jordan Amavi continues to have a good time at Marseille after leaving Aston Villa on loan during the summer transfer window.

Amavi had a difficult summer, with Sevilla pulling out of a transfer and blaming a failed medical. That never seemed to be the complete truth, or even the largest part of it, but Sevilla’s behaivour created problems for both Amavi and Aston Villa.

The player’s value was damaged and interested clubs given a warning by Sevilla’s actions. Steve Bruce even contemplated keeping the fullback at Villa Park beyond the end of the window closing.

On loan at Marseille from Aston Villa, leading to a permanent deal, Amavi is perhaps getting more opportunities than he thought would be available. Essentially signed as a back-up to Patrice Evra, Amavi is getting more minutes at the moment.

The defender probably thought he’d be sharing the position with Evra, and learning from the veteran, but French newspaper L’Equipe say Amavi ‘does not share anything’ right now.

Things could change, and Evra edge himself back in but the, for now, Aston Villa owned Frenchman is enjoying some well deserved good times.
