It seems that João Teixeira will really be the only Benfica player to be loaned to Nottingham Forest during this transfer window.

On Monday, the Portuguese press suggested that besides the midfielder, the Championship side would be insisting on getting Pelé too.

But as reported by Record now, Pelé ended up being loaned out to Portuguese side Feirense until the end of the season.

This rumour actually sounded a bit forced since the start. After joining Benfica in 2015, Pelé joined Paços de Ferreira on a season-long loan, where he did pretty well.

But he returned to the club and had a foot fracture, meaning he couldn’t be used by the Eagles, or even be sold, as many rumours pointed to a transfer at the time.

The player still hasn’t featured this season, meaning his recovery is still to start. This certainly wouldn’t be the ideal scenario for Nottingham Forest to strengthen their squad in the January window, so missing out on Pelé is something the fans really shouldn’t complain about.
