Over the last two days, reports coming out of Spain have indicated Real Sociedad have an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil on a loan deal in the winter market.
The 20-year-old swapped Sevilla for Spurs last summer and has found it hard to get playing time this season. He’s managed just over 750 minutes from 20 appearances in all competitions.
Gil has been restricted to only 30 minutes of action in the league since Antonio Conte was appointed as Nuno Espírito Santo’s successor.
On Tuesday, Mundo Deportivo reported the Spaniard’s agent wants to ‘rescue’ his client from the English club’s ‘ostracism’ and move him elsewhere this month. It was stated the winger is ‘attracted’ by La Real’s interest.
Ander Barrenetxea is set to miss the rest of the season due to an injury. Today’s edition of the same newspaper claims Gil is the player who will take Barrenetxea’s place in Real Sociedad’s squad. If not, they will finish the window without bringing in a new player to the club.
Mundo Deportivo say the former Sevilla man is having a hard time adapting to life in England.
Gil is hardly counted on by the former Chelsea manager.
The report further explains the player is ‘not happy’ in London and ‘wants to leave Tottenham at all costs’ before the January window closes.
