Gonçalo Guedes swapped Valencia for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.

The Portugal international has featured in 10 matches in all competitions this term for the Premier League side, which includes six starts in the league.

Prior to joining Wolves for around €30m, ‘many teams sounded out’ the 25-year-old, with Sevilla among them.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who state his decision to join the mid-table English club had left many puzzled. The situation is now different, considering he is ‘not feeling well now’ at Molineux.

The first few months at Wolves is not what the attacker had expected when he headed to the Premier League. His performances for the club so far are ‘very low, too low’, for a player who cost €30m.

ED add that it has been so much of a struggle that his place in the Portugal squad for the Qatar World Cup is up for debate.

Guedes had options to join Sevilla or Roma and play in the Champions League or the Europa League this season. Instead, he ended up at Wolves, who are struggling in the bottom of the league table.

Taking the ex-Valencia star’s form for Wolves so far into account, the website suggests it has been a ‘blessing for not buying’ Guedes.
