With Vincent Kompany confirming Burnley’s interest in Sporting winger Jovane, the Portuguese media today features several stories about the player’s future.

It turns out, however, that the most interesting piece we’ve seen isn’t especially about the Clarets. It’s actually regarding the agents who represent the 24-year-old.

Newspaper Record explains that even though most footballers work with only one official, there are actually several agencies who have been handling Jovane’s career.

That means there’s a big mess going on, because different agents have been making different requests even when negotiating with the same clubs, and that scenario is only delaying his departure from Sporting this summer.

Record then highlights the fact that Jovane would like to move to a top league, and that’s where Burnley get a mention.

The outlet writes that the forward gave denials to the Clarets, as he doesn’t want to play the Championship, and to Besiktas, from Turkey.

So if Burnley are that focused on signing him, a lot of work to convince the player will be needed.

Perhaps a big contract could change his mind.
