West Ham United have rejected Torino’s latest offer for Nikola Vlašić, according to today’s Tuttosport.
The 25-year-old was on loan last season at the Turin club, who have decided not to exercise the €13m buying option. Their aim is to get the deal done for a lower price.
After Torino’s first offer of €7.5m plus bonuses was turned down, West Ham have rejected their last bid of €9m plus €1.5m bonuses. It’s claimed David Moyes’ side will only consider his sale at €13m, which was the price set for redemption.
Tuttosport state the Croatia international has made three calls to Moyes, West Ham sporting director Mark Noble and the London club’s secretary, Andrew Pincher.
Vlašić has made it clear to the trio that he has ‘no intention of returning’ to London to be a bit part player. He feels ‘reborn’ at Torino, which is why he wants to continue with them.
If he were to be forced to go back, Vlašić has informed the West Ham officials that he won’t consider a move to any other club apart from the Italian side.
Torino technical director Davide Vagnati tried to convince West Ham to accept an offer of less than €13m but more than their last proposal. The report states he failed.
Tuttosport report Vlašić, Vagnati and Torino manager Ivan Jurić are ‘increasingly united’ as the player is the main target for the latter.
They add the ‘only credible scenario’ for both Vlašić and Vagnati is to wait and then knock on West Ham’s door again to see if they have softened their stance. In other words, this saga is set to continue for a while.
