Granada star Bryan Zaragoza is negotiating with Brentford over a potential January transfer, but a move in the summer seems move likely.

That’s according to Granada Digital, who cover the developing transfer interest around the player today and Brentford’s efforts to get him.

The newspaper reports that the playing is negotiating with RB Leipzig and Brentford at this moment in time, the two clubs who have shown the ‘greatest interest’ in securing his signature.

They would both like the player in the January transfer window but according to GD’s information, Zaragoza’s desire is to remain with the Spanish side until the end of the season at least.

At the moment his agent is ‘addressing a possible transfer’ with Brentford and Leipzig, with them ‘knocking on his door insistently’, with the Germans believed to be the more stubborn at this moment in time.

They’re being kept at arm’s length, though, as Zaragoza feels very grateful to Granada and the city according to sources consulted by Granada Digital.

He wants to help the Spanish side ensure that they remain in La Liga and feels committed to the club, so much so that he is negotiating a potential contract renewal that will improve his salary and ensure he ends this season in Los Cármenes.

While that is his intention ‘all possibilities remain open’ and any unsuccessful renewal negotiation could lead to a departure in January after all.

His current deal runs until 2027 with a release clause of €14m but this would be halved if Granada were to be relegated this season. This is a major issue as Zaragoza wants to ensure that if he does leave, it brings the best possible sum to Granada.

Current conversations with Leipzig and Brentford are orientated towards a future transfer, despite both showing a desire to get him in January and it remains a possibility and the next few weeks will be decisive.
