Tiémoué Bakayoko will return to Chelsea after AS Monaco decided not to make his loan stay permanent.
On June 29th, Le10 Sport covered AC Milan interest in the midfielder and stressed he is tempted to join them.
Later that day, we covered claims from TuttoMercatoWeb that the 25-year-old is ‘more than just an idea’ for the Serie A side, who already had him on loan during the 2018/19 season.
Le10 Sport have another report on the Frenchman today and they state the player will ‘most likely not stay at Chelsea’.
It’s claimed Frank Lampard’s side are hoping to receive €35m for Bakayoko, which could be an indication that there’s willingness from the English club to cut ties with him.
Milan get a mention and the report adds Paris Saint-Germain are also looking at him, but have not tabled an offer. OGC Nice also ‘inquired’ with Bakayoko’s entourage before they signed Morgan Schneiderlin from Everton.
Le10 explain Lyon have emerged as a potential candidate and they took information about the former Monaco man ‘very recently’. It could be related to his situation at the club and the figures needed to complete the operation.
Bakayoko’s ‘objective’ is to feature regularly next season so that it can help him regain his place in the France squad and make it to the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
A move to Lyon would help him achieve it, but the Chelsea owned player’s salary could be a problem for Rudi Garcia’s side. He earns €5m per season.
