Swansea City are about to complete the signing of Gonçalo Franco from Moreirense, according to reports from Portugal.
A Bola report that the player has missed Wednesday’s training session with the Portuguese side as he was authorised to fly to Wales to finalise a move.
Franco is set to undergo medical tests with Swansea City and then sign for the Championship side once they have been completed.
The newspaper points out that this was Moreirense’s last chance to make some money via a sale, as his contract with the club expires in a year’s time, and so they have now sanctioned his exit.
It isn’t revealed how much Swansea City are paying for the transfer, though, and as newspaper Record also covers the transfer, they don’t seem to know that either.
He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €3m, and considering his contract situation, the price paid by Swansea City shouldn’t be far from that.
Franco spent four years at Moreirense, and was a very important player for their squad. Last season, he took part in all of their league games, except for a match in December where he was suspended.
