Kalidou Koulibaly has already had his medical ahead of the move to Chelsea, according to the latest claims from the Italian media.
Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that during his first day in London, the Napoli player was already examined and is now ready to sign a four-year deal with the Blues.
The defender is expected to make €10m per season in his new contract with Chelsea, who are paying the Serie A side a fee of €40m for the move.
Gazzetta Dello Sport writes about the ‘long’ time Koulibaly has been on Thomas Tuchel’s radar, as the London side had been looking to replace Antonio Rudiger, who went to Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.
Following the signing of the contract, the Senegalese defender is set to join Chelsea’s squad for their American pre-season tour. According to the report, he could make his debut for the Blues in the match against Charlotte FC on July 20th.
Koulibaly left Napoli after eight years at the club, in which he made 317 appearances for them, and was appointed captain.
