Despite all those reports at the end of last year saying Moises Caicedo was close to joining Manchester United, we now see a very unclear scenario in the Ecuadorian media.
The doubts regarding a move to the Red Devils started when an Independiente Del Valle official claimed they hadn’t held talks with the Old Trafford side.
Then there were reports regarding offers from MLS and other European clubs, with Manchester United not the only club being named any more.
But there are still chances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to land the winger, at least according to Ecuadorian journalist Marco López Castillo.
He now reports that Caicedo has ‘many offers’, with two of them being from MLS. The player, however, wants to ‘fulfil his dream’ of playing for Manchester United.
The journalist insists that Manchester United had an agreement with Independiente Del Valle, but claims we have to ‘wait’, as the Ecuadorian club’s financial needs must be considered as well.
That probably means the offer from the Red Devils is not as good as those from other clubs, or perhaps Independiente are still waiting for the highest bidders. Either way, the transfer seems a lot more complicated than previously claimed by the same journalist.
