Lucas Paquetá’s move to West Ham United is edging closer after the English club found an agreement with Lyon for his transfer.

The Brazil international’s impending arrival has not stopped the Hammers from thinking about Hans Vanaken. They have seen Club Brugge reject two of their bids to sign the 30-year-old.

On Saturday, Het Belang van Limburg stated that David Moyes is internally pushing West Ham to make a third bid for Vanaken.

HBVL’s report is backed up Voetbal Belgie, who then provide more information on the Jupiler Pro League winners and the player’s stance on a potential transfer.

The Premier League club’s last bid was €11m plus €2m in bonuses and like their first offer, it was laughed off by Club Brugge. It’s said they are ‘counting on €15-20m’ for the Belgium international.

Vanaken, for his part, is looking for a ‘transfer to West Ham’ and Moyes ‘still wants’ him to join his side before the window closes.

With the Belgian champions setting their demands for the attacking midfielder, it needs to be seen whether the Hammers will meet them. If Vanaken fails to join West Ham, then he will receive an improved contract from Club Brugge.
