For the past few weeks, reports coming out of Italy have stated that AC Milan are joined by Arsenal in the chase for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.

Last Friday, Sport Mediaset stated the Serie A side must ‘watch out’ for the Gunners in the race for the winger.

It was also explained the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappé in Madrid after this season is the ‘main reason’ the Arsenal target is looking to change clubs in the next window.

The Spain international recently took to Twitter to confirm he has parted ways with his agent, Horacio Gaggioli. He is now represented by Jorge Mendes.

A new report from Sport Mediaset states the 26-year-old’s decision to change agents could be the ‘signal that confirms the decision to leave’ Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the summer. The outlet further explains the player is ‘liked’ by Arsenal, Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.

Over at Calciomercat.it, they claim it will be a ‘hot summer’ for the ex-Mallorca man as he is ‘ready’ to leave Los Blancos and ‘marry a new project’ next season. The change of agents would not be a problem for Milan as they share a good relationship with Mendes.

Recent reports have stated that Bahrain-based Investcorp are in talks with the Rossoneri over a potential takeover of Milan. If this were to take shape, Calciomercato.it explain it would be easier for Stefano Pioli’s side to meet the €7m per year salary requested by Asensio.

Apart from Milan, clubs in England, like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, ‘clearly remain in the running’ to sign the attacker.

Both Mikel Arteta’s side and Spurs ‘would have no problem pleasing’ Asensio with an annual salary of €7m. However, Milan’s ‘charm could make the difference’.
