Earlier this week, reports coming out of Italy stated that Allan could leave Everton after this season, more than 18 months after joining them from Napoli in the summer of 2020.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the midfielder ‘would like to leave Everton’, regardless of whether they continue in the top flight next season. They are currently 17th in the table, just above the relegation zone.
Lazio could be an option for the 31-year-old where his former manager, Maurizio Sarri, ‘likes him very much’. ‘This is obvious’ since the player would ‘gladly return’ to play under the Italian.
Sarri met Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito and their sporting director, Igli Tare, this week, and Allan’s name was discussed during the meeting.
The Biancocelesti would be a ‘welcome destination’, for the Brazilian, but there are certain factors that need to be considered to carry out the operation.
Reports have indicated the South American has asked Frank Lampard’s side to release him, even though he has a contract until 2023. The website states ‘there is no certainty’ they will accept it, and instead, Everton could ask for €15-20m.
Should this be the case, the Italian capital club would only consider Allan, if they end up making a big sale in the summer. His salary also needs to be discussed. The player earns €4m per year at Everton and a ‘cut would be needed’ for him to arrive at Lazio.
Although Allan’s profile is appreciated and liked by everyone at the club, including Sarri, it will be necessary to understand Lazio’s exits, and then the demands of both Everton and the player himself.
These are the ‘fundamental factors to understand the feasibility of a possible negotiation’.
