Earlier today, Expressen in Sweden reported Brighton & Hove Albion have been able to beat stiff competition to agree a deal with IFK Göteborg over signing Malick Yalcouyé for SEK 120m [€9m] deal
It was also said the Premier League side have to agree personal terms with the 18-year-old, and there was an expectation for them to sort this out soon.
Fotbollskanalen now suggest the midfielder’s move to Brighton could be ‘imminent’ after a new development.
On July 7th, the Swedish club will face IFK Värnamo, and Yalcouyé joined his teammates to train today ahead of that match.
The report states the youngster trained only for 30 minutes before leaving the group and heading towards the dressing room. This may indicate his move is ‘imminent’, and Göteborg and Fabian Hürzeler’s side want to avoid taking any risk of an injury.
If the move in imminent, it also indicates the English club would have sorted out personal terms with the player. It won’t be long to find out why the young midfielder left training early on Friday.
Yalcouyé joined Göteborg from Ivory Coast based side ASEC Mimosas at the start of this year and has played 14 games for them so far.
