As Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back Ruben Vinagre seems to be one of the main targets for Portuguese clubs this summer, the local media today has a few more things to say about this chase.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã is the one detailing Sporting’s plans for the transfer window.
They claim the current champions have as their ‘priority’ the arrival of Marcus Edwards, a left-back and a right-back.
Vinagre is said to be one of those players, and even though he’s just spent a season in Portugal on loan at Famalicão, it now looks like a new spell could be on the horizon.
Correio da Manhã writes that the 22-year-old could arrive at Sporting on a temporary spell from Wolves, and the Lions would then have a buying option over him at the end of the season.
The main reason we thought Vinagre could leave Wolves on a permanent move this summer is that Benfica are set to battle Sporting for the signing, and that would undoubtedly help the Molineux side to get a good offer.
But the truth is that Correio da Manhã doesn’t even mention the Eagles this time, as the story is completely focused on the Lions.
Earlier this week, it’s was also said by the Portuguese media that Vinagre’s situation won’t be decided until Bruno Lage takes charge of Wolves and decides what to do with the player.
