Ederson is already in Manchester, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
The player has travelled from Lisbon in order to complete his move to Manchester City, and now should be ready to have his medical and sign the contract.
Although the Portuguese press has been reporting Pep Guardiola’s interest in the goalkeeper for over a year, they aren’t yet specific details on Manchester City’s deal with Benfica.
In today’s paper edition, A Bola claimed that the initial fee is €45m, but they still believe reports from England which say the amount could be higher. That’s likely because they want to believe them.
Benfica are only due 50% of the fee, and although the other half officially goes to Ederson’s former club Rio Ave, the latest reports from Portugal have been saying 20% of this share goes to Jorge Mendes.
Ederson would be expected to replace Caludio Bravo at Manchester City, given the goalkeeper’s poor first season under Guardiola.
