Newcastle United’s new signing Santiago Muñoz has finally landed in England to complete his move to the Magpies.
As reported by ESPN Mexico, the player spent ten days in quarantine in Madrid and only now was able to reach his final destination.
It’s claimed that Muñoz is now set to join Newcastle’s squad and start working with the U-23 team at the start of next week.
The player had also reportedly been waiting for authorisation from so he could complete the transfer.
ESPN brings a few details about Newcastle’s U23 squad, showing that they feature in the Premier League 2, and making it clear that Muñoz must prove himself before he gets any chances in the first team.
The striker is moving from Santos Laguna on an 18-month loan, and the Premier League side will have a buying option over him. In an interview earlier this month, he insisted he feels no pressure about the transfer and has big aims for the future.
“I have to do my thing, trust myself, and my process has been fast. It’s 18 months, but I’m going to enjoy it. This is a dream that I know is possible.”
