Francisco Trincão may not be having the most impressive loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t clubs interested in his signing this summer.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola today features a page-long story claiming Sporting want to sign him, and the wish of a move to Lisbon is coming from the player as well.
The outlet writes Trincão ‘knows’ he’s not staying at Wolves, as after having him on loan from Barça, the Molineux side already told the Catalan club they’re not triggering the €30m buying option they have over him.
It turns out that even though Sporting want him on loan, Barcelona would like to make a sale, as it’s considered that the winger had a ‘positive’ spell in the Premier League.
Barcelona spent €31m to sign him from SC Braga, and according to A Bola, they’d like to use this window to at least recover part of the investment they made. Sporting, meanwhile, are set to wait and try to get him for as little as possible.
Since joining Wolves last summer, Trincão has three goals and one assist in 29 appearances for the Molineux side.
